Advent Calendar

I found the cutest advent calendar online, on my new fav blog. Teresa McFayden created this great project and shared the directions on her blog. This was easy and one of the funnest things I have made in a while!
Even better..I only had to buy the cookie sheet and a few little numbers, but the rest was all stuff I had. :) Great way to use up all those adorable little embellishments I love this project! All the pieces are magnetic and store on the underside of the cookie sheet so you can bring one out each day to countdown to Christmas, can't wait for Saturday to come so we can start using it!

Hope everyone is having fun getting ready for Christmas!

Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus

Last night was the big concert! Emily got tickets for her birthday and has been counting the days

ever since! The show was so much fun The Jonas Brothers opened with all of Emily's favs...Kids of the Future, SOS, That's Just The Way We Roll, Just Friends. They were great dancers and did lots of jumps, kart wheels and handsprings all over the stage! Then it was time for Hannah, and she was so cute! What a great entertainer, she made at least 8 costume changes and performed several great dance numbers! Mid way through the show the Jonas brothers came back out and did one song with Hannah and a few more of their favorites especially Year 3000, before Miley Cyrus came on to finish the show. More great costumes and dance numbers. I didn't have regular camera, so my pics aren't very good, but

here are a few of the OK ones. A blurry one of Nick Jonas playing the piano and one of Miley playing the guitar during her encore, where she played a sweet song called I Miss You that's about her grandpa.

Trick or Treat....

Halloween night is always a lot of fun in our neighborhood! Everyone sits outside to pass out candy and it's a great time to visit with the neighbors and see all the costumes! This year Suzanne made some delicious Witches Brew and had tons of snacks for us, and our old neighbors Dianne and Gary came back to visit and hand out candy here. Rocky was in costume for part of the night dressed as Jack Sparrow to go with Emily's adorable pirate...surprisingly ;) he wasn't too fond of the costume or the night. He did get to come back out and play for a while when my friend Shari from work stopped by with her miniature dachshund Sparky, who was also dressed as Captain Jack. The kids did a lot of trick or treating and ended up with LOTS of candy!

So a few of you asked about my costume for the party...I was dressed as a pretty simple witch, just a black dress and hat. But my office had a big Halloween party and our department came as the castaways from Gilligan's Island, yes i was cast as Mary Ann, guess that is the obvious choice, but I'd like to think I could have been Ginger if I wanted.
